Every day out in Antalya, reviewed.
Which Suluada boat actually stops at the good bay. Whether Pamukkale is worth eight hours in a minibus. What the rafting combo really includes. Every tour on this coast, priced and rated by the people who went.
Suluada is why half of Antalya books a boat.

Three different days on the same turquoise water: the long run down the coast to Suluada, the loud and cheap pirate ship out of Kemer harbour, and the flat cold water of the dam lake behind Green Canyon.

Suluada, the coast’s own Maldives
Two hours down the coast to Adrasan, then a slow anchor-hop round an uninhabited island with sand the colour of bone and water clear enough to count your toes in.
Antalya stays cheap until you leave the coast.
Every tour on the site sorted by what it actually costs. On this coast a full day on a boat can come in under the airport taxi.
Hamam sessions, waterfall stops, cable-car tickets and the short boat runs out of Kemer harbour.
The standard Antalya day: Suluada, the rafting combos, the old-town circuit, Pamukkale with lunch thrown in.

Kaleiçi is small. The circuit around it is not.
Hadrian’s Gate, the fluted minaret and about four streets of Ottoman houses — Kaleiçi takes a morning. The tours worth paying for pin it to the rest of the city: Düden’s water going over the cliff, the car up Tünektepe ridge, and a boat that noses in under the falls.
The Taurus starts twenty minutes inland, and that is where Antalya gets loud.
Köprülü Canyon’s rafting run, jeep tracks up through the pines, buggies and quads on the same dust, zip lines strung over the gorge. Most of it sells as a combo day with lunch by the river.
The days most Antalya trips get built around.
Six choices cover most of a week on this coast. Each one opens onto the full ranked list underneath it.
Aspendos, Düden and Kekova: Antalya’s three unrepeatables.
Beaches and boat days run the whole length of the Turkish coast. A Roman theatre that still stages opera, a waterfall that drops straight into the sea and a city lying under clear water belong to this stretch alone.

The Aspendos Theatre
Built around AD 155 and the best-preserved Roman theatre anywhere, Aspendos still seats about twelve thousand and still stages opera and ballet through the summer. The acoustics are why guides make everyone stop talking halfway through: a coin dropped on the stage carries to the back row. Most tours pair it with Perge and the Kurşunlu falls.

Lower Düden Falls
The Düden river crosses the north of the city, vanishes underground, then reappears over a forty-metre cliff directly into the Mediterranean. There is a clifftop park to look down from, but the boats that pull up underneath get the version worth paying for, and a soaking with it.

The Sunken City
A second-century earthquake dropped half of ancient Simena into the sea off Kekova island. Staircases and doorways still run down under clear water; swimming over the ruins is banned, so the boats glide across the glass-bottom sections instead. The same day usually takes in Demre, where St Nicholas was bishop.

Antalya’s biggest day trips start before sunrise.
Several of the best-known tours on this site are not in Antalya at all. They are three, four and nine hours away, and the road is most of what you are buying. Worth doing — as long as you book them knowing.
- 01Pamukkale & Hierapolis Day Trip w/MealsRoughly four hours each way through the mountains. Leave around five, back near midnight, and you get about three hours on the terraces.
- 022-Day Cappadocia, Cave Hotel, & Balloon TourAn overnight rather than a day trip: nine hours of road each way, or a domestic flight. The balloons launch at dawn, which is the only reason to go.
- 03Kekova Sunken City, Demre & Lycia Day TourThree hours west along the Lycian coast. The boat section is short, the drive is long, and the drive is the beautiful part.
- 04Old City, Waterfalls, Olympos Cable Car, BoatThis one runs backwards. The flames on the hillside only read as flames after dark, so it leaves late afternoon and walks up in the dusk.
In an Antalya August the plan is water or shade.
July and August sit in the high thirties with a sea breeze and effectively no rain. Anything outdoors moves to the early morning or on to a boat, and the rest of the day belongs to the aquarium tunnel, a marble hamam, or the cable car up Tahtalı, where two thousand metres buys you fifteen degrees.
